Get out and explore the trails and waterways at five state parks, then grab some comfort food ...
Since August 2019, the Eisenhower Presidential Library & Museum is once again fully accessible to visitors. Meanwhile, the official re-opening of the museum - with several new exhibition areas - is scheduled for October 12 2019, in memory of the birth-day of Dwight D. ‘Ike’ Eisenhower on October 14, 1890.
State-of-the-art technology and interactive exhibitions bring ‘Ike’ - former US President Eisenhower - and his wife Mamie back to life. In several stages, visitors can review both the life of the Eisenhowers, and ‘Ike’s life’s work - as Commander-in-Chief of the Allied troops in World War II, and as 34th President of the United States from 1953 to 1961.
In addition to previously unknown material from the National Archive in Washington D.C. Visitors get to see historically significant documents for the first time. In the newly designed cinema, they can also experience "Ike" and his time, up close. This fascinating new exhibition brings fresh insight into why President Eisenhower became known as "Champion of Peace".
